Abstract

Abstract The aim of this research is getting information about: 1) to know the component contribution of technology on the Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) according to Technometric Method; 2) to know application degree of the technology component on each school; 3) to know technology developing priority on that school. The kind of this research is survey. This research objects are Public SMK that chosen by purposive technique. The data resources in this research are: facilities (technoware), abilities (humanware), facts (infoware),  and frameworks (orgaware) that adopted from SMK’s Minimum Services Standard. Analysis method is techno metric. By thid research, we have information about: 1) the highest of component contribution in Public SMK is orgaware, then inforware, humanware, and technoware is lowest. In the otherhand, in private SMK is humanware, then inforware, orgaware, and technoware in the lowest. 2) according to assessment scale for technologycontribution coefficient (TCC) has known that the grade of quality of Public SMk and Private SMK on good qualification. 3) Through problem mapping with technometric analysis, priorities of school quality improvement can be decided. Priority of quality improvement in Public SMK begin from human abilities, then facilities, organization, and fact/ information. While in Private SMK starts from facilities, then human abilities, fact/ information, and organization for the last. Keywords: technology, components contribution, technology-contribution coefficient

Abstract

Abstract Studies related to aspect of resilience of Yogyakarta, an earthquake site, are important. The result of studies can be used to alleviate people from the desperate situation. This research aimed to explore the resilience of the teachers and staffs of the SMU Negeri 1 Pundong based on their locus of control or LOC (internal and external). The subsequent aim was to exploredifferences in psychological aspects that build resilience between internal and external locus of control. Thirty people were recruited as participants, in which 16 of them has internal LOC and 14 had external LOC. IPC scale of Locus of Control based on Levenson and resilience scale were employed as instruments. The resilience scale consisted of seven aspects: emotional regulation, impulse control, empathy,optimism, causal analysis, self-eficency, and reaching-out. It was developed by on Reivich ad Shatte method. Results showed that there was no significant difference in the levels of resilience between internal and external LOC (t= 1.343, p=0.190). the following analysis showed that the two groups(internal and external LOC) differed n two aspects, empathy (t=2.722, p 0.05) and reaching out (t=2.389, p 0.05). the meaning and possible causes of the result were discussed. Abstract

Abstract This research is trying to improve the quality of learning, reduction of misconceptions, improving of learning activity by using the method of Problem-based Learning in the subject matter of Matematika Teknik. The goal of this research is reducing as well as eradicating the students’ inactiveness in learning, reduction ofmisconceptions followed by theimprovement of learning performance. This research is a classroom action research consisting two cycles. Each cycle consists of four steps of activities: planning the action, implementation and observation, reflection and revision. Research conducted to all students participant of Matematika Teknik subject. The data were collected through observation and tests. Data were analyzed descriptively. Result of this research indicate that: (1) Learning model of Problem-Based Learning based on constructivism can reduce the frequency of misconceptions to Matematika Teknik concepts (misconceptions reduced from 87.1%  in pre-test become 41.3% at the post-test), (2) Learning model of Problem-Based Learning base on constructivism can improve students’ leaning activity marked with more and more students participate actively in learning (3) Learning model of Problem-Based Learning base on constructivism can improve learning performance of the students(from 3.3 at pre-test become 7.0 at the time of post-test). Pursuant to result of this research hence require to strive applying of learning model of Problem-Based Learning base on constructivism at broader scope in the effort of improving the quality of learning and education in applying of competence based curriculum. Abstract

Abstract The aim of the research is to increase the capability of the lesson by giving additional food. The research has been done at the Terbantam I Sleman elementary School within two cycles. The steps of the action that we have done are: (1) To consult and discuss with the principal and teacher class about the plan that conducted the action research, (2) To communicate class teacher for asking how many students who involve and suggest to do some observation about the situation in the class, (3) To give parents some questionnaires about the daily activities  of students like eating, sleeping, playing, and studying,  (4) Direct correction the students achievement of the lesson, (5) To give additional food (6) To correct the teaching methods of the teachers. Result of research: (1) According to the fifth class of the elementary school at Terbantaman I Sleman did not have the side effect of psysic,eg: diarrhea or vomit. Conversely. This program raising the motivation of student in following the lesson, (2) The student present 99.69% follow the lesson, that mean the category was exellent, (3) The task of home work given by teacher 99.9% was done, (4) And the average of the value of the summative of all the lesson are increase. Abstract

Abstract This action research aims at promoting students’ participation in a class of repeaters so that they can attend classes regularly and be actively involved in the learning process in the classroom through the coordinated actions of the two teachers as a work team. This action research was done in four cycles at the English Language Training Center of Duta Wacana Christian University during the second semester of the 2004/2005 academic year. The participants of the research were the two classes of repeaters at the lowest level of the Introduction to College English (ICE) program (Level 1A) and two other teacher collaborators with whom the researcher taught those classes and did the researcher. Data were collected by means of observation, interview, and document. The data were then analyzed by using the Interactive Analysis Model of Miles and Huberman. The findings show that the increased teacher coordination as a work team through coordinating meetings, Teacher’s Journal and dialogs in teaching learning-strategy, developing students’ sense of achievement, motivating and empowering, and using certain instructional techniques has resulted in an effective synergy to create a productive climate in which the students feel cared for, motivated, and empowered by their two teachers. The extra score from comiling teaching materials is quite motivating for the students and has proven to be helpful for some student to reach the passing score. Abstract

Abstract This research has been carried out to improve the mathematics learning activity and by Realistic Mathematic Education (RME). This research was done in three cycles to the fourth grade students of the State Elementary School 27 in Ampenan in the academic year of 2006/2007. The result shows that to improve the learning activity, the implementation of RME should involve the following step: (1) the instruction has to begin with arousing motivation and apperception, (2) the students solve contextual problems with a very limited or without the teacher’s help, (3) the teacher presents the essential concept following the solution of the contextual problem, (4) the result of the students discussion has to be presented in front of the class by the students, and (5) the final step of the instruction has to be the making summary and  giving homework assignment.
